About Me

First it’s Sari like Mary.  Now that we have gotten that out of the way…

My mission as a coach:

“To provide the tools, based on individual learning styles, that enable each individual to have the confidence and pride in their personal strength, character and abilities. To foster the skills  through coaching to think critically and creatively in order to problem solve and succeed in a variety of environments. To be inspired by the study of the world as both lifelong learners and activists.”

About me now:

My own success and sense of peace came only after I found myself lost in chaos.  I was always tired, crazy, running around like a chicken with my head cut off, of course I didn’t lose it since it was attached.  I had recovered from illness and was trying to make up for lost time and be the perfect mother volunteering for everything, trying to give each of my twins the attention the deserved, run a household, be the executive director of a non-profit and run my own coaching business.  I am a single mom by choice and have always wanted of being an “over achiever.”  And perhaps from the outside I was.  I made sure my clients always got my best and was spending time with my kids.  So things where fine.  I was treading water, feeling lost and trying to pick what I could let wait till it was on fire.  Then my daughters told me that I was always tired, and that they where good at helping me remember things because I could be forgetful.  And they where right.

I had the tools, after all I was an expert in executive functioning and taught this stuff.  Yet, I was so lost in the chaos that I forgot to stop and breath.  I was keeping everything up in the air, but I was surviving the chaos, not controlling it.  I needed to coach myself. That’s when I created a reboot for myself.  I used the tools I had and started to be mindful. I re-evaluated, planned, set priorities, created better habits and then pushed re-start on my life.

My background:

As a child I  struggled for many years with dyslexia and had little belief in myself. My personal experiences led to my drive to help others who face challenges to have an easier road than I was forced to take. This began with my study of the mind and of learning. I wanted to understand different types of learning, because I know that “one size did NOT fit all!” I then took this knowledge and experience and became a teacher, working with college and high school students. My success in the classroom led to promotions into administration, and into higher salaries. My career was in full steam and I felt empty. I missed helping people achieve their goals and seeing them grow. I felt isolated. Thus it was time to take a leap of faith and create a new identity for myself. I had to rediscover my passions and carve a niche for myself that would allow me to both live my ideal live and pay my mortgage. I began to do consulting and work individually with coaching clients helping them to learn about how they could overcome their road blocks and achieve their dreams. Together we  worked to help them understand how they learned best and how to break out of bad habits that had been holding them back. This was an awakening for me as well. I realized that I had put artificial limitations on myself. Thus I put myself on a new quest, to learn the skills of coaching, learning, neuro-biology,  executive functioning, efficiency and time management techniques to create personalized systems that would help clients to break free of their own self imposed limitations. Since I embarked on this journey I have had experiences I had always dreamed of but not thought within my reach. I studied and looked inward. I tried to utilized my educational, teaching experiences as well as my background in educational therapy, as an Education Consultant, Speaker and Coach to create a framework that I could use to teach others. These programs for overcoming challenges and reaching beyond ones goals are centered on my understanding that each individual is unique, and has their own style of learning. It is only with an honest understanding of each individuals’ personal strengths and weakness, that a personalized learning strategy can be co-designed for long-term improvement and success. Together I partner with my clients to allow them to implement their own personalized success strategies.
